2016 is drawing to a close, bringing us closer to the start of a New Year 2017. Usually, we all like to take this time to go out with friends and or family in order to reflect on what we’ve done in the past year and what we wish to do in the future.
I don’t have much to say, but I know from sharing stories with my friends as well as the new correspondents I’ve made here on WordPress, that 2016 hasn’t been the easiest of years for any of us. It has been a year of changes and of disappointments, but also, and more importantly, it has been one of growth, of learning a bit more not only about oneself, but also of those around you.
What are your hopes for 2017? What is that one thing that you’ve always wanted to do but could never work up the drive to? Where do you want to go? What do you want to see? Put simply, who do you want to be?
We all have these questions and the only thing can propel us over that threshold, is the very same that can paralyse us with fear…ourselves.
So what do we do? We get up and do it! 2017 is a year of doing! It doesn’t have to be grand or world-changing in proportion, but taking that one little step everyday will get us to where we want to be. If this blog has thought me nothing else, it is that every step adds up, and you end up surprising yourself with what you have learnt through the mere action of doing. That is certain.
So, there’s nothing left to say than to let’s make 2017 a year of doing!
Happy New Year!
